Academic Policies and Procedures

All students are expected to be honest and to display a high standard of integrity in the completion of work. Cheating or dishonesty of any kind on a test, written assignment or project is considered a serious offense and may result in a grading penalty and/or disciplinary action.  

Report cards for grades 1st-6th are sent home and posted on Sycamore (online management system) at the end of each quarter.  Pre-K and Kindergarten assessments are emailed to families directly from the teachers. 

The academic year consists of four grading periods. Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten receive attribute-based grades. Students in Grades 1-6 receive both attribute and numerical grades. 

Homework may be sent home several times a week. Parents are asked to help by providing the time, place and encouragement needed to complete these assignments.

Students are promoted to the next grade when the final average in each core subject is 60% or higher and they have not exceeded the maximum number of unexcused absences for the year.  Students who do not achieve this standard will be retained in the current grade.
